Company Profile

Leo Alarie & Sons Construction, which was founded in 1948, is a general contracting firm with its headquarters in Timmins, Ontario. We provide construction and engineering services to the public and private sectors through 4 operating divisions and a wholly owned transport subsidiary. Our divisional structure enhances our company's ability to provide services through specialization in specific areas of construction. By combining the expertise of the divisions when required, we have the versatility to undertake challenging and technically complex projects.

History of Company

[image] Around 1934, Leo Alarie, a resident of the mining and farming community of Matheson, Ontario began doing contract work for other area farmers. In 1939, Leo Alarie bought his first crawler tractor, a Cletrac 30, for rental on a local road building project. This purchase led to the purchase of other equipment and to the eventual incorporation of Leo Alarie & Sons Construction as a private company in 1955.

One of Leo Alarie's earlier projects include the building of the Kennebec Railroad Trestle in 1953. The trend of quality workmanship initiated in this project continues to hold true more than 50 years later, as Leo Alarie is still a recognized leader in providing construction services to Northern Ontario and beyond.
